SHOW SEES SORTIMO BUILDING ON SAFETY MESSAGE

Small traders are beginning to get the message about safety in their vans.

That’s the encouraging news from the team who manned the stand for van racking specialists Sortimo at the recent Interbuild show at the NEC.

Sortimo was displaying a Mercedes Vito short wheelbase van fitted with its new range of easy select racking solutions. This allows customers to choose the manufacturer and vehicle type and then, from a range of four, the solution that best suits their requirements.

“The reaction was very positive and a lot of customers were happy to have such an easy solution offered to them. We had more than 500 enquiries from the show and gave out in excess of 1000 brochures,” reports Chris Jones, Sortimo’s UK sales and marketing director.

“Enquiries came from all types of businesses including plumbers, electricians, and construction firms, as well as local authorities and utility companies. Fleet sizes ranged from single vans and trucks to 400 plus vehicles. We are now following up these enquiries to develop sales.

“I was interested to see how many small traders made the effort to seek us out – we had more than 180 on the Sunday. They all seemed very aware of our crash test safety demonstrations and that this aspect of our product is unique to us

“Over the last 12 months, Sortimo has grown and invested in new production equipment and people to make sure that the company can meet UK demands, which we expect to grow over the next few years at a rate of  30 per cent.

“Sortimo is also investing in sales and has added technical support based in Salisbury to help customers select the best racking solution for their needs. We have also appointed two new sales staff, one in London and the other in Sheffield, to bring the UK total to 10.

“We have also installed new facilities at our Salisbury base to speed up deliveries for customers serviced there and also those dealing with our network of installers throughout Britain.”
