The Partner of Professionals

At this year's Birmingham Salon in Birmingham, England, Sortimo International will present itself as an ideas factory for professionals. On Stand 4561 in Hall 17, Sortimo will present the world of in-vehicle equipment over a floor area of more than 200 m2. Selected exhibits, developed and manufactured by SORTIMO and its subsidiary SORTIMO Speedwave, demonstrate the close bond between Sortimo and the automobile industry. Trade and business professionals searching for optimally equipped vehicles for their particular branch of business or industry find what they are looking for at SORTIMO. Furthermore, they can also view perfect SORTIMO conversions and dedicated solutions built into different vehicles on the other stands at the trade fair.

Sortimo's participation at this year's Birmingham Salon will be proof-positive of the company's professionalism. Numerous components that have been developed and patented by the Bavarian company SORTIMO will be presented at the trade fair. One of them is SORTIMO Globelyst, the third generation of in-vehicle equipment that permits individual solutions for every branch of trade and industry and for every type of vehicle. Shelves, drawers and cases can be combined with each other at varying widths and heights thanks to the new "Maxxi-Space-Frame" shelving unit. And with SORTIMO's "Easy Klick®" quick-change system, tools, materials and entire equipment modules can be removed and simply refastened in place. Maxxi-Space-Frame also means that no hole needs to be drilled in the bodywork of the vehicle.

Sortimo's world of innovations is multi-faceted. The following highlights will be presented on the stand:

-     Four exhibits with different equipment solutions for service personnel
These exhibits are transparent display items that imitate the silhouette of a vehicle. Comprising Plexiglas panels which are open to the top, these manufacturer-independent walk-in exhibits permit the in-vehicle equipment to be viewed from the rear. The functionality of SORTIMO Globelyst can also be tested at the same time.

-      Sortimo TOOLBACK, the innovative cargo space extension developed jointly by Sortimo and Clever-Parts for the Smart fortwo, turns even a SMART fortwo into a full-value customer service vehicle. It couldn't be more practical. Clever-Parts in Wiernsheim, the inventor of TOOLBACK, doubles the size of the SMART's small boot. A "rucksack" if you like, made of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic that doesn't add to the weight, is simply "strapped on" to the vehicle instead of the tailgate. The newly gained space is large enough to install a complete in-vehicle equipment system in the half-pint vehicle.

-      The crash test display of the live crash carried out on the TRL premises in Berkshire, England. The events on the video screen demonstrate the high safety standard of Sortimo as an automotive supplier.

Embedded in the world of leisure offered by the Sortimo Speedwave outdoor modules, a Mercedes-Benz Vito with an extra-long wheelbase will be presented as an additional highlight. The focus of attention here is the cooperation with Merida Mountain Bikes, a system partner of Mercedes-Benz, and highlights an innovative solution for mountain bikers who not only need a kitchen and fridge on board, but also a complete workshop.
